SOCAR operates on the entire territory of the Republic in oil and gas field search and exploration of oil and gas, and the preparation of the gas condensate, production and transportation as well as the basic products that they are made from and in the delivery to the internal and foreign markets.

SOCAR employs 58 945 persons, out of which 50 are doctors of science, 392 have a degree as candidates of science, 17500 are engineers, technician and specialists.

SOCAR supplies for the republic’s internal demand of oil and oil products, and has additionally the capability of exporting everything above this demand. In order to assure this, SOCAR has a strong production unit, well developed service sector and large scientific and technical potential.
