DONG Energy

DONG Energy was founded as Dansk Naturgas A/S by the Kingdom of Denmark on 27 March 1972 (the name was changed to Dansk Olie og Naturgas A/S in 1973 and to DONG in 2002). DONG Energy is one of the leading energy groups in Northern Europe. The company is headquartered in Denmark. DONG Energy generated more than DKK 60 billion (approx. EUR 8.2 billion) in revenue in 2008.

Over the past few years, the company has shifted its focus from natural gas sourcing, wholesale, exploration, and gas and oil production to becoming an integrated energy company with activities across the value chain.
