Esso Norge AS

Esso Norge AS belongs to the Norwegian ExxonMobil Group. ExxonMobil is the second largest oil and gas producer on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, holding ownership interests in more than 20 producing gas and oil fields, and approx. 10 % interest in Norwegian gas transportation and processing infrastructure.

ExxonMobil has its headquarters at Forus in Sandnes municipality, where all offshore exploration and production activities are coordinated. ExxonMobil’s marketing activities are operated from the Skøyen office in Oslo, while the refinery is located at Slagentangen near Tønsberg. The refinery at Slagentangen has a production capacity of 6 million tons of oil products per year, and its production is based on crude oil from the North Sea. The total number of employees in the company is 900.

ExxonMobil has a market share of about 21% of total sales of oil products in Norway. The company markets both Esso and Mobil branded products. The number of gas stations is around 325.
