IBP was established in the year 1909 in Rangoon. But in 1942, and due to the war we had to shift our corporate Head Office to India. We have shared 50 years of progress and industrialization after Independence. And this is the only Petroleum Company, which has been contributing to the core sector for almost 90+ years. Government of India divested its holding in IBP under the Disinvestment plan in February 02. IBP is now part of the Indian Oil Corporation Group. Indian Oil is India's flagship Oil Company with nine refineries, over 6500 kms of cross country pipelines and 186 bulk storage depots and terminals. IBP operates 2765 retail outlets and 378 SKO/LDO agencies. Our retail outlet network is well-managed and consists of strong, dedicated and loyal dealers. IBP was given approval by Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas to market LPG in August 1996 and has been granted a 4% share in business of LPG marketing by public sector companies.
