Nella Oil Company

NELLA Oil Company has roots dating back to 1931 with the founding of Beacon Oil Company by Walter B. Allen, and was followed in the business by his son-in-law Thomas W. Dwelle. Thomas' four sons Tom, Steve, Walt and David Dwelle took an active role in the oil business at an early age and are extremely knowledgeable.

The four brothers formed a partnership in October 1979 with the purchase of seven gasoline stations within a 50-mile radius of Sacramento. In tribute to their grandfather, the company was named "NELLA" which is "ALLEN" spelled backwards. The company's growth expanded our geographic area that now includes Redding to the north, Visalia to the south, Watsonville to the west and Placerville to the east.

With our headquarters in Auburn, California, NELLA Oil Company currently owns and operates a growing number of Flyers™ retail convenience stores, Java City™ Espresso Bars, unattended cardlock fuel sites and a fleet of fuel transports. In addition, NELLA Oil is a branded distributor of Exxon, Chevron and Shell fuels for both wholesale and retail customers.
