San Marco Petroli

San Marco Petroli was founded in the early seventies responding to the increasing demand for energy products due to global industrial development.

Situated in Porto Marghera (Venice), the company’s initial activity was limited to the sale and the distribution of petroleum products, gasoil and fuel oil, which were imported directly and sold to wholeseller in the adjacent provinces of Veneto, Trentino and Alto Adige. In the last years, the offer has been broadened with petrol, biodiesel as well as bitumen. With regards to these products, the company has restructurated the area of the installation bycreating two areas perfectly equipped with high-end technologies allowing the management of petrol and specifically bitumen.

Today, the company focuses not only on the sale of these products but also on the storage for third parties. San Marco Petroli has a storage capacity amounting 154.863 m3. Moreover, bunkering operations, blending of products, additivation and treatment of gasoils in accordance with domestic requirements, can be provided. In addition, the facility possesses a rail connection with the national railway (railway station Mestre) and tank wagons can therefore be loaded and discharged.

Specific attention is given to the environment and the observance of security rules. In this respect, San Marco Petroli has introduced a security management system (SGS: Sistema di gestione della sicurezza), which constitutes a first step towards an environment certificate.

San Marco Petroli has acquired towards the end of 2009 the Italy based petrol station network from OMV Italia.
