star is the petrol station brand of ORLEN Deutschland GmbH which operates more than 500 petrol stations in the northern part of Germany since 2003. The company located in Elmshorn near Hamburg belongs to the Polish oil and petrochemical corporation PKN ORLEN SA, the largest Polish company and one of the largest Central European corporations with an annual turnover of about €17 billion in 2007.
