Tunisia: Q8 Oils products popular in North African market
Q8 Oils, an affiliate of Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) succeeded in marketing its products in the Tunisian market
Q8 Oils which launched its operations back in 2008 was able to put out its products for sale in 100 petrol stations across Tunisia, Q8 Oils Sales' Director in the Middle East and North Africa Abdulmohsin Homoud informed.
Q8 Oils adopted a policy that aims at a large-scale franchising in North Africa as its operations cover Morocco as well; the company is currently preparing to enter the Libyan and Algerian markets.
The company which focused since its establishment on the European market is now shifting focus to the North African countries, Homoud said, adding that he was expecting that Q8 Oils would be able to sell six million liters a year in the region. Q8 Oils' operations cover 58 countries worldwide, 27 of which are located in Europe, he said, and noted that the company is planning to merchandize in Qatar, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, Sudan, and Uganda next.
Operations in Tunisia were initiated in 2008, but due to high prices of fuels and oils, the company was not able to market effectively until a year ago, Homoud said.
In 2009, more than 500,000 liters were distributed in the Moroccan and Tunisian markets. The Tunisian market accounted for the sale of 300,000 liters, he added, expecting that it would jump to 1,800,000 in the next five years. Homoud said that the industrial sectors in Tunisia and North Africa are in a constant search for high-quality products and this was the company's drive to improve its products and present products with competitive prices.
