SOCAR Energy Georgia to invest $50 million in 2010
SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) in 2010 intends to invest in Georgia $50 million, the head of SOCAR Georgia Energy Mahir Mammadov informed
Mammadov is also chairman of the Association of Azerbaijani businessmen in Georgia. In this status, he has attended the Georgian-Azerbaijani business forum, which discussed the work of Azerbaijani companies in Georgia.
Mammadov said that 26 million of the allocated amount will be spent on gas projects, mainly gasification of Georgia's regions."The expansion of Kulevi oil terminal is also planned," - he added.
Mammadov also confirmed the intention of SOCAR to open 28 additional filling stations in Georgia, and thereby expand its network of oil products sale.
SOCAR Energy Georgia is engaged in distributing and marketing oil and oil products in Georgia. In particular, the company sells fuels and gas on the Georgian market.
SOCAR Energy Georgia's co-founders are SOCAR (The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan)- 51 percent, Petro-Trans FZCO with 32.7 percent and Ivan Chkhartishvili holds 16.3 percent.
