Newent garages take part in scheme to cut fuel thefts
Four petrol stations in Gloucestershire have joined forces in an attempt to cut down the theft of fuel from pumps
Drivers who leave the stations without paying will find their vehicles blacklisted by neighbouring garages in Newent and the surrounding area.
Stations taking part in Garage Watch share car details of offenders with each other to help tackle future crime. Police said they set up the scheme after several stations in the area were targeted by the same offender.
The four garages taking part are Meridian Service Station in Gloucester Road, Newent; Highleadon Filling Station, in Highleadon; General Garage in Huntley and Cross Hands Garage in Corse.
