Brown Bear celebrated anniversary with free carwashes

Posted / Last update: 27-08-2010

Brown Bear Car Wash celebrated its 53rd anniversary on Thursday by offering customers free carwashes from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at participating locations. This was the fifth-consecutive year the family owned car-wash company has celebrated its founding with the promotional giveaway. During its previous four events, the Seattle-based business performed 78,760 complimentary washes, including more than 25,000 last year

Brown Bear customers received a free “Bear Essential” carwash at all of the company’s automated “tunnel wash” locations in the Puget Sound area. “We’ve had an amazing response each year. It’s a fitting way to say ‘thank you’ to our customers who have supported us over the years,” said Vic Odermat, Brown Bear founder and owner. “And hopefully we’ve introduced new customers to the kind of service and value we deliver year-round.”

Odermat said the event reinforces the esprit de corps within the company. “We blend hard work, pride and a lot of fun into an event that benefits our customers and the environment,” he said.

Odermat started Brown Bear in Seattle in 1957 with one location. Through its parent company, Car Wash Enterprises Inc., Brown Bear today owns and operates 41 carwash facilities in Washington, as well as a network of gas stations and convenience stores.
