English Español Peruvian drivers of LPG-fueled vehicles face shortages in Lima

Peruvian drivers were unable in late March to find LPG in most service stations in the country’s capital Lima, according to reports in multiple media including 24 horas television and Correo newspaper.

Last update:

LPG is short because large part of the supplies are routinely shipped from the port of Pisco in south of Peru to the main port of Callao and unusually high seas with rough waves have prevented any LPG deliveries within the last four days.

Operations of fuel stations located in the eastern district of Chosica, near Lima, were separately facing emergencies in those same days related to mud slides caused by rains which have left several people dead and damaged dozens of structures and business activity including normal fuel dispensing.

Drivers said that they have had to switch to gasoline which is a lot more expensive. LPG-fueled vehicles can normally switch between fuels.
