Brazil officials close fuel station operating without license; finds out-of-spec fuel, bad pumps
Brazilian officials from the state agency ANP carried out 28 interventions during the second week of May, closing a station which lacked operating permit as well as detecting not just fuel which did not meet specifications but also problems with fuel pumps, a report said May 19.
The officials seized 2,000 liters of diesel and 300 liters of gasoline from the one station it detected operating without authorization during the inspections which were carried out in the region of Campo Grande, for the first time this year, and in Mato Grosso for the second time.
The authorities also confiscated lubricants, food items and frozen goods in all cases where the expiration date was due.
During separate inspections held simultaneously in the region of Pernambuco the authorities detected out-of-specification ethanol.
