Brazil officials find more stations from one distributor flag buying another’s fuel
Brazil officials from the fuel retail regulator known for its acronym ANP reported on May 22 that following inspections carried out in the regions of Minas Gerais as well as in Juiz de Fora authorities have detected fuel stations operating under one distributor flag that sell fuel purchased from a different supplier.
Out of 14 fuel stations inspected in those areas during May 19-21, the ANP wrote four infractions with two of those for this practice, the ANP said.
The other two infractions were for failing to have equipment in place to test fuel quality and for failing to keep documentation updated.
Several fuel samples were obtained for more testing to assure quality, ANP added.
The ANP said it is intensifying inspections and now following tips from consumers who have reported potential irregularities.
