Italian fuel retailers strike set for June 24-25 suspended after talks

The strike that was initially announced earlier this month for June 24-25 by fuel retail groups in Italy including Federazione Autonoma Italiana Benzinai as well as Fegica and Anisa has been suspended following talks late last week, as reported by the groups.

Last update:

The decision to suspend the plans to go on stoppage came after Italian authorities, including those from the Ministry of Economic Development, had held talks on June 17 with representatives from the groups.

‘The union organizations, when deciding to suspend the strike, have shown a great sense of responsibility,” minister deputy secretary Simona Vicari said at the end of the meeting,” according to a report published in the website of Faib.

The decision came after the groups accepted an offer to advance during this month with work to restructure the industry. Fuel retail groups have complained of high level of royalties among other situations that they say hurt their profitability.
