This is the first Fresh Corner service station to open as part of a pilot project which will see an additional four locations opening in Romania´s capital city Bucharest and Sibiu, reports Romania Insider.

Fresh Corner is a new approach from Mol to develop their service stations into cafés and supermarkets.

“Fresh Corner is a regional concept, which was implemented after extensive research in several countries. We will closely monitor how the Romanian drivers will integrate the new products in their daily shopping routine,” said Camelia Ene, Head of Retail for Mol Romania.

Following an international retailing trend of better quality food and hot beverage products, Mol gas stations will offer a variety of coffees: a self-serving machine will supply 26 types, as well as fresh coffee made by an assistant to consume inside or outside the station.

Fresh bakery and dairy products will also be available at the Fresh Corner. Usual convenience store goods such as flour, sugar, bread, canned food and other items can also be found in their small supermarket.

Mol Romania is the fourth biggest fuel retailer in the country. This year they have increased their retailing network with the successful acquisition of 45 Agip gas stations from ENI Romania in February. They are expected to finish the rebranding of the 45 sites this month.
