The partnership named “Lakbay-Ligtas”, which means “Travel-Safe”, aims to increase police visibility and raise crime prevention awareness, according to a separate report by the Manila Bulletin.

The outposts will also serve as complaints desks and drop-off points for relief goods during calamities.

Some of the Petron service stations which will have police presence are the following--South Luzon Expressway in San Pedro, Laguna; C-5 in Taguig City; Km. 23 North Luzon Expressway in Marilao, Bulacan; Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, and the corner of Gil Puyat and Makati Avenues in Makati City.

“This program is in line with our efforts to give more to our customers beyond offering premium fuels and innovative services. As an essential part of the community, it is natural for Petron stations to help in ensuring the safety and security of its neighbors as well,” Petron’s Vice President for National Sales Archie B. Gupalor said.

Gupalor also hopes to include more Petron gas pumps in the program soon.

Petron has approximately 2,200 service stations in the Philippines.
