Asda sells fuel under £1, cheapest in 6 years
After Morrisons slashed the price of fuel to under £1, UK's supermarket chain and fuel retailer Asda set the price of unleaded at £0.997 on Friday – the first time it goes under the £1 mark in 6 years.
British motorist were happy to go into the weekend accompanied by cheap fuel after Asda, which has a network of 273 gas stations across Britain, and Morrisons lowered fuel prices.
This is the first time Asda sells unleaded fuel for less than £1 since summer 2009, reported The Telegraph.
“Were adding a further boost by investing in a three-day fuel price drop meaning drivers can now benefit from fuel as low as 99.7ppl in the crucial run-up to the festive period,” said Andy Clarke, President and CEO of Asda.
