Nigeria: DPR shuts down another 50 gas station
Nigeria's Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) continues to crack down on irregular fuel marketers by sealing a further 50 gas stations in the Ibadan region for hoarding and selling above price, reported The Nation.
With the country suffering ongoing, severe fuel shortages many fuel retailers have taken the chance to sell petrol above the official rates – in many cases for exuberant sums.
The DPR has not only hardened their stance on the wrongdoers but is also rewarding those selling at the right price by ensuring faster and stable supply.
Engineers from the DPR office condemned those selling above price, criticizing how a small group if taking advantage of the precarious situation of millions of Nigerians.
