The project aims to address commuters’ demands to make service station facilities available on the 75-kilometer stretch.

According to Oman Daily, the Ministry of Housing has selected and rehabilitated eight locations ahead of the construction of the gas stations.

Officials also want to assure the stations’ compliance to highest safety and regulatory standards.

The Muscat Expressway, which opened in 2011, serves more than one million residents.

The gas stations, according to Salam Al Mahrooqi, will serve more than thousands of commuters like him.
