Azerbaijan’s Socar extends Europe CNG network to Turkey
A chain of eight compressed natural gas (CNG) stations has been established in Turkey for two years and Socar plans open more new sites
Socar Turkey Petrol Enerji Dağıtım A. Ş., subsidiary of Azerbaijan’s state oil company Socar, plans to further augment the number of CNG stations in populated areas this year, reported NGV Global News.
In fact, Socar has set up an extensive network of CNG stations, about 200-250 km apart, connecting various locations in Turkey such as Izmir, Istanbul, Ankara, and Mersin.
This new corridor adds up to the Europe-wide CNG station network, making the cheaper and cleaner fuel more accessible to fleets and public transportation companies.
