Nepal: Gas stations start supplying fuel 6 months later

Motorist from Nepal were thrilled to learn that after six months of fuel scarcity, gas stations started distributing regularly last Saturday.

Last update:

State-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), which is in charge of the fuel monopoly, said regular supply in the Kathmandu Valley would start from Saturday, although it first announced it be from Friday, reported the Kathmandu Post.

The Nepalese people have been oil-starved since India started its unofficial blockade six months ago.

Although motorist will be able to access fuel, the NOC will continue its fuel-rationing system at all gas stations for another week, supplying only 5 litres to two-wheelers and 15 litres to four-wheelers.

The announcement from the NOC officials saw motorists take to their nearest gas stations with long queues forming all over the territory.
