Avista wants to install 265 EV charging stations in Washington
Power company Avista wants to boost EV use in Eastern Washington by installing 265 charging stations for electric vehicles.
The company is asking state regulators to approve a two-year pilot program that would expand EV use in the region, according to the Sportsman-Review.
In the request, filed last month to the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, Avista argues environmental benefits, fuel cost savings and vehicle performance has key aspects that support the EV project.
The ambitious plan would cost almost $3.1 million, consisting in the installation of charging stations in 120 homes, 100 workspaces and 45 public locations. Seven of the public stations would include fast-charging technology.
Avsita will kick-off its program in May if it is approved by Washington regulators.
