The oil company, which currently has 500 stations all over the Southeast nation, looks into further expansion as a result of diesel demand’s surge by 3.7% in 2015 and petrol consumption increase by 13.2%, notably the highest in 10 years thanks to price cuts.

Jesada Chancherngkij, Asia-Pacific marketing communications manager, fuels and lubricants, of ExxonMobil, said that Esso opened almost 20 stations last year.

"That was the first time since 1997 [the Asian economic crisis] that we had a positive net addition" of petrol outlets,” further said Esso spokesman Mongkolnimit Auacherdkul.
