India: 398 gas pums to install vapour recovery systems
Indian authorities from New Delhi have told all oil companies operating in the city to install vapour recovery systems at all pumps – around 400 pumps.
After an investigation by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) of air pollution at gas pumps, all gas station operators will have to install vapour recovery systems by March 1, reported the Daily Pioneer.
The DPCC have come up with a series of guidelines for operators to make the country´s capital city less polluted. The agency has told operators to install remote sensor-based Pollution Under Control (PUC) systems by May.
Gas station operators have also been told to take steps towards alleviating the usual congestion the stations suffer, including increasing the number of fuel pumps.
Authorities want operators to be more thorough in identifying fuel adulteration and checking fuel quality data.
