Russia: Tatneft opens network’s first charging station

Russian oil and gas company Tatneft, which runs 692 filling stations, opens its first electric charging station in the Tatarstan city of Kazan, according to Interfax.

The charging station is installed at petrol station #507 and equipped with a fast multi-standard charging unit “Terra 53", which can power a 24 kWh battery from 30 to 80% within 15 minutes.

The president of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, who was present during the inauguration together with General Director of PJSC TATNEFT  Nail Maganov  and Director of OOO "Tatneft - AZS Center" Vyacheslav Chichkov, said that electric transport is eco-friendly and reliable, and needs development, according to a company release.

The Central Depository of the Republic of Tatarstan is listed as one of Tatneft’s biggest shareholders and Minnikhanov sits as Chairman of the Board.

The company operates 565 filling stations in Russia, 110 in Ukraine, and 17 in Belarus.
