USA: Tesla in talks with Sheetz to install EV chargers

Tesla is in talks with Sheetz to install electric vehicle chargers in the retailer's vast network of gas stations in the United States, reported the Washington Post.

Last update:

In an interview with the mentioned newspaper Michael Lorenz, Sheetz´s executive vice president of petroleum supply, confirmed they had entered talks with Tesla to install high-speed electric chargers.

"We've had discussions with them about putting their chargers in our stores. We haven't done anything yet, but we're continuing those discussions,” said Lorenz.

Sheetz currently has eight fuel stations where non-Tesla EV drivers can recharge their vehicles.

The move would fit into Tesla´s strategy to partner with restaurant, hotel and gas station chains to expand the reach of its EV charging network, therefore allowing users to travel long distances without running out of battery.
