Spain: Carrefour rolls out mobile payment in 122 service stations

French multinational retailer Carrefour has recently launched a smartphone application that allows customers to pay for fuel without the need for cash or credit card at its 122 service stations in Spain.

The free mobile app ‘Mi Carrefour’ is available to its tarjeta Pass card holders, reports Spanish daily ABC.

It can be downloaded on Apple Store and Google Play and has features which allow the customer to locate the nearest Carrefour gas station, select the gas pump, the type and quantity of gasoline as well as make payments, according to eltempletelosbarrios.com.

The app also enables the user to personalize fuelling and consumption preferences making it easier and quicker the next visit to the pump.

Carrefour discounts and rewards can also be availed using the mobile app.
