The 21.76kW-solar panels were provided by Solar Frontier K.K., a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K., and the project was constructed by Energy Pro Corporation Ltd., a Thai solar power EPC specialist.

This is part of Shell's plans to construct environment-friendly service stations in the Asia-Pacific region.

In Japan alone, the oil giant installed Solar Frontier’s CIS thin-film solar panels on over 400 service stations helping reduce the grid power consumption as well as serving as an emergency power source during blackouts and natural disasters.

“As Solar Frontier’s premium CIS thin-film solar panels have been designed with real world conditions in mind, they are able to achieve excellent power output whether they are under strong sunlight or even during the rainy season. This makes them a reliable solution all-year round for saving electricity and promoting green energy for Thailand,” said Yuichi Kuroda, Executive Officer of Solar Frontier.
