Topaz, Gas Networks of Ireland to open first natgas station at Dublin port

Gas Networks of Ireland and Topaz have agreed to build and operate the first station to supply compressed natural gas (CNG) at Topaz's Dublin Port location, reports The Irish Times.

The project, which is part of a €1.45 million deal to develop 70 filling stations in Ireland, is co-financed by Gas Networks Ireland and the European Union's Connecting Europe Facility.

It will be a fast-filling station suitable for buses, vans, and trucks and can fill up to 70 Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) not more than five minutes each.

The first gas stations will be constructed starting this month and are expecteed to be finished after 10 weeks.
