Northern Ireland's LCC acquires Belfast terminal

LCC, the Cookstown-based energy firm, has acquired the Cloghan Point oil terminal in Northern Ireland in a multi-million pound deal.

Northern Ireland energy company LCC Group has bought a terminal on Belfast Lough from AES Power. The company is planning to invest £15m on improving the facility to that 120,000-tonne tankers are able to dock in it.

The operation would make it Ireland´s largest commercial terminal in terms of capacity.

LCC, owners of the Go chain of petrol stations, said that increased capacity "could lead to energy cost savings for businesses and consumers in the future,” reports the BBC.
