IKEA now sells solar panels

Solar panels and solar battery storage can now be bought online via the IKEA UK website and by the end of the year at IKEA stores, according to a company release.

The IKEA Solar Battery Storage and Home Solar cost from £6925 (5% VAT included) when installed with solar panels, while retrofit battery prices start from under £5000 (20% VAT Inc), explained Solarcentury, the solar firm partner of IKEA.

The combined solar panel and battery storage solution promises to save electricity bills of up to 70% annually.

“With energy bills already going up 15% this year, there’s never been a better time for customers to take back control of their electricity bills and maximise their savings by switching to solar and solar storage,” said Hege Saebjornsen, Country Sustainability Manager, IKEA UK & Ireland.
