Total, Worldline, Intech join forces to deploy mobile payment solutions in 8 African countries

French oil giant Total and payment solutions companies Worldline and Intech have signed an agreement that will pave the way for the expansion of Guichet Unique solution in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, the Republic of Guinea, and Senegal, according to a company release.

Guichet Unique provides retail networks with a device that makes it possible to accept all means of payment and distribute third party services such as subscriptions to media content, bill payment, money transfer, card top-up, banking, and insurance.

Already present in more than 170 Total service stations in Senegal, the oil company will deploy the solution in its service station network with possible expansion in another 30 African and Middle Eastern countries.

Intouch, meanwhile, targets to deploy Guichet Unique in more than 5,000 retail network and independent points of sale.

The hosting infrastructure that will enable the pan-African deployment and run of the digital solution will be provided by Worldline.

Worldline and Total will fund the first phase of deployment and become shareholders in Intouch, alongside its founder, Omar Cissé.
