Shell to install 20 fast-charge points at Dutch gas stations
The rise in usage of electric vehicles in the Netherlands has convinced Shell to install EV fast chargers in 20 of its petrol stations.
The Dutch oil company continues with its plans to equip an important part of its 870 service stations in the Netherlands and Belgium with EV charging points. Plans for this year include the rollout of up to 20 fast charge points in the Randstad, reports Go Press Mobility.
“Only 15 to 20 minutes to charge up to 75%. Just enough time for a freshly made sandwich with coffee and a sanitary stop on the way,” says Machteld de Haan, General Manager Shell Retail Benelux & France.
There are around 15,000 electric cars on Dutch roads and some 4,300 in Belgium. Although EV drivers are still an overwhelming minority, de Haan believes the market will continue to grow and that “this was the right time to sept ii.”
