Each tourism station is required to have a petrol station, hotel, fast food restaurant, retail shop, information center, rest area, toilet, child play area, and separate prayer room for men and women.

Land plots for the stations have already been identified and divided into three main groups—the first group includes proposed stations on Adam/Thumrait and Al Batinah Express roads, the second group covers the applications made by individuals to set up integrated tourism stations, and third group includes the integrated tourism stations on 17 locations of the Ministry of Tourism.
