The increase in petrol stations aims to address growing fuel consumption brought about by population increase in the city.

Petrol consumption in HCMC is forecast to reach 2.35 million cubic meters by 2020 and 4.3 million cubic meters by 2030, according to the Department of Trade and Industry.

The project will prioritize building new petrol stations in the outskirts to connect them to other infrastructures such as markets, seaports, and logistics centers.

Through this, petrol stations will help in building smart cities and facilitate better access to citizens.
