Franklin Fueling Systems introduces Defender Series Spill Container
The Defender Series spill container was engineered and designed with the future in mind with several features including multiple monitoring methods as well as the ability to be easily upgraded from a single wall container to a double wall container in the field without having to break concrete. These options allow the station owner to evolve the spill containment as regulations change in their specific area.
Always knowing how your spill containment is performing and getting immediate confirmation on the integrity of the interstitial space is made easy with either mechanical or electronic leak detection options. The I2 (Interstitial Integrity) Monitor mechanically facilitates efficient monthly and annual visual inspections confirming the integrity of the secondary containment space while the time-proven ULS electronic sensor option allows the user to have active leak detection. Upgrading a single wall version of the Defender Series to double wall is easily done by loosening four interior plow ring screws and removing the ring, then unthreading the single wall container and replacing it with a double wall container.
“We know that , depending on the region, spill containment requirements out there are changing as regulations progress and we designed the Defender Series to adapt right alongside those requirements,” said Jay Walsh, Vice President of Business Development for Franklin Fueling Systems. “If your region doesn’t already require spill containment testing, odds are that it will soon. With the Defender Series you can protect your initial investment by choosing a spill container that is able to evolve as regulations change with a simple upgrade process.”
A major emphasis was put into level of protection that the Defender Series provides. Proactively protecting a site from the dangers of fugitive emissions can save station owners both time and money by avoiding remediation due to fuel leakage. The Defender Series provides several key defenses from these costly expenses including a drop tube compression adapter ensuring a vapor tight seal, a compression gasket which provides a vapor tight mechanical seal, a CARB EVR approved EBW drain valve and an EBW cast iron cover with gasket; one of the most trusted and proven cast iron covers in the industry.
Lastly, the variable height adjustment feature allows for approximately three inches of height adjustment during install, making the Defender Series an ideal solution for retrofit applications as it can adapt to varying forecourt conditions.
“We took all of the best things about our EBW brand spill containers, combined them with the best features of our Phil-Tite brand spill containers and used that as our basis to build a truly next-level spill container,” said Walsh.
“The Defender Series was developed by bringing everything we know how to do best together into one spill container.”
The Defender Series will be on display at the upcoming WPMA tradeshow in Las Vegas, NV at the Franklin Fueling Systems booth (# 821) from Feb. 16 to Feb. 18.
Orders for the Defender Series are accepted starting on February 1, 2010.
