Shell Pakistan to develop network into complete service stations
According to reports from Business Recorder, Shell Pakistan is looking at upgrading their gas stations to offer a wider variety of food, refreshments and other services.
Fitting into their new business strategy, the energy giant has just signed an agreement with McDonalds to install outlets in their service stations.
“We want to build refreshment centers instead of just gas stations” said Managing Director of Shell Pakistan, Omar Sheikh, to the news source.
Fuel demand in Pakistan has experienced an exponential growth over 2015 fuelled by a growing national economy (+4.14% in 2014, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics), lower fuel prices and record sales in the automotive industry.
Shell Pakistan is enjoying a period of expansion and leadership in the market, as shown by the second quarter results (up to June 30) which saw them gain RS1.287 billion ($19 million) of net profit – a huge increase compared to the RS220 million ($3.3 million) profit from the same period in 2014.
“We are focused at increasing our customer base and market share, for which we have been constantly investing in image building, and primarily improving customer experience,” said Sheikh at the company´s results presentation.
