“We are the only oil company in the country that is selling Euro 4M RON 97 starting today,” said Managing Director and CEO of PDB Mohd Ibrahimnuddin bin Mohd Yunus in a press conference.

The new fuel type is the first RON97 to meet Euro 4 specifications. It had lower levels of benzene, sulphur and Reid vapour pressure levels, making it more environmentally friendly than the previous Euro 2 RON97, according to FMT News.

Around 60% of Petronas´ 1,060 gas stations in Malaysia will start selling the new fuel immediately. The Euro 4M RON 97 is produced on the company´s refineries in Malaysia, which have a production capacity of 400,000 barrels per day.

“PDB is committed to ensuring and giving full support to the government implementation of the highest specification for the respective fuels as gazetted under the environmental quality regulations,” said Ibrahimnuddin.
