PetrolPlaza Special Cloud-based solutions: LOMOSOFT GmbH

LOMOSOFT and Saas
WinDMS was first launched in 1998 as the third generation of LOMOSOFT’s planning and scheduling software for downstream logistics. The revolutionary desktop application has expanded through the years to fulfill the complex needs of the sector and has adapted to an ever changing ERP landscape. LOMOSOFT addressed the need of numerous customers for a limited IT infrastructure on their side and offers SaaS (Software as a Service) and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) solutions for the WinDMS environment.

Simply put, LOMOSOFT can take responsibility of hosting, maintaining and supporting WinDMS on behalf of the customer. This includes all the necessary components of a data center (e.g. network, databases, disaster recovery and data backup) as well as operational services, such as authentication, upgrades and adjustments.

The need for evolution – Cloud based solutions
In response to the ever evolving business needs of our customers in the Oil and Gas Industry, we are currently developing the 4th generation of our planning and scheduling solution, D4G. We have taken the strategic decision to create a web-based application hosted in a private cloud that encapsulates the major benefits of the cloud experience, with enhanced data protection and IT security for customer data, whose security in a public-cloud system would be arguable.

LOMOSOFT’S 4th generation – D4G
D4G is the successor to WinDMS. It is built keeping in mind the valued features of WinDMS, but based on the newest available technologies, with additional enhancements.

Accessibility– anytime and from anywhere, requires only a web browser and your log in details
Scalability – adjusts to your workload and business needs, features available on demand
Audit ready – improved troubleshooting
Revision safe – data capturing and change tracking, critical to many business procedures
Improved integration – full control over the data exchanging process allows for seamless integration with other systems
Highly customizable – both user-based and organization-based customization, maintained even after product enhancements

D4G is built upon the global success of WinDMS 3G and is set to become the standard in the Oil & Gas industry, ranging from major multi-national oil companies, to fuel distributors, retailers and logistics companies.

WinDMS at the retail station
The WinDMS VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) module connects to the site’s wetstock management and/or PoS system through the cloud, takes data from the site tank-gauging (dips) and PoS (sales), compares them to the site’s stock criteria (i.e. number of days stock) and then automatically creates a replenishment order.

The replenishment order takes into consideration the size of the site’s tanks, the dry stock, minimum stock and maximum stock levels. It then considers the road tanker compartmentation, legal axle loads and loading/discharging pattern depending if this is a split drop or not. Once all these factors are taken into account the load is created, which will ensure complete optimization of the delivery, site usage, load size and vehicle fit.
