GFT provides fuel equipment solutions including Gilbarco Veeder-Root products in Southeast United States, while MECO of North Florida offers fuel system services in Jacksonville and cities throughout Florida.

The merger of the two companies will result in the largest and most diverse team of petroleum equipment professionals providing expertise and customer service to the North Florida and South Georgia markets, according to a company release.

“This acquisition really produces a win-win-win-win scenario, meaning that both GFT and MECO, along with the employees and their customers, will benefit greatly. Both organizations share a common commitment to customer service, providing industry leading products and solutions, as well as a desire to create an environment where our employees can grow as the industry evolves,” said Joey Batchelor, President and CEO of Guardian Fueling Technologies.

MECO of Atlanta, owners of MECO of North Florida, will remain in business and operate separately in Georgia. Nonetheless, its management team and GFT’s have agreed to work very closely to ensure future success in an ever-changing industry landscape.
