Trends in the U.S. convenience market

The U.S. convenience store market is booming pushed by low fuel prices and a recovering economy. There are currently 154,535 convenience stores in the United States, a couple of hundred more than last year and almost 10,000 more than in 2010 – the last year that the number of c-stores reduced. Around 80% of all convenience stores sell motor fuels, while the industry continues to be dominated by single-store operators (63.1%), according to data from NACS.

We sat down with senior figures of market analysts Applied Predictive Technologies (APT) to discuss the situations of the market and the latest trends. We also speak to professionals from two of the fastest growing segments in the market, water and energy drinks.
