Total Tanzania Limited has launched an oil blending plant worth $20 million that will produce more than 15,000 metric tons of lubricants, greases and coolants.

On 8 February, Minister of Trade George Joseph Kakunda and the director of investments of Total officially inaugurated the factory.

As part of the growth strategy for Tanzania and the region, Total acquired the Petrolube oil bending plant last year.

“We are here to share with you another investment milestone for Total in Tanzania as we announce the official launch of this plant which marks a total global investment of more than US$180 million in Tanzania over the last two years,” said Tarik Moufaddal, Managing Director of Total Tanzania, as reported by IPP Media.

In 2017, Total announced the acquisition of Gapco, an energy company with 60 service stations and a large depot. The sites have been rebranded as Total.
