Epping, a family business that started in 1992, operates a network of 17 gas station in the island. In addition to Total’s current 57 locations, the purchase will make the global oil company the leading retailer in Jamaica.

“With a greater local footprint in the retail market, Total is also confirming its long-term commitment to Jamaica. Driven by our dedication to our customers, we intend to continue providing our high-quality products, operational excellence and innovative offers and services to more Jamaican customers,” said Isabelle Gaildraud, Senior Vice-President Americas at Total Marketing and Services, as cited by the mentioned publication.

The other two major players in Jamaica’s fuelling market are GB Energy, which acquired the Texaco operations in 2012, and Rubis Energy Jamaica, that took control of Shell’s assets in 2013.

It remains unknown if the Epping petrol stations will be rebranded as Total.
