English Español Qatar: Woqod to open 30 new sites in 2019

If the openings are successful, the Qatari company will have doubled its network from 2017 to the end of 2019.

Fuel retailer Qatar Fuel (Woqod) will open 30 new petrol stations in 2019, according to a top official.

On continues expansion, as displayed by the 32 openings of 2018, Woqod will continue with its strategy throughout 2019. In 2018 the company saw record fuel sales of 10 billion litres, reports The Peninsula.

“The company has deployed its efforts for consolidating its core activities of distribution and marketing of petroleum products along with associated activities,” said Ahmad Saif Al Sulaiti, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Woqod, said in his address to shareholders the Annual General Meeting.

With the plans for another 30 sites, Woqod will have doubled its network in the space of two years.

“In 2019, Woqod will complete the construction and operation of 30 new fuel stations in different areas of Qatar. The construction contracts for these stations have already been signed,” added Al Sulaiti.
