USA: Marathon to acquire 33 convenience stores from Noco
All the sites, which include gas stations and are located in New York, will be rebranded as Speedway.
Marathon Petroleum plans to buy 33 Noco Express convenience stores and rebrand them as Speedway, according to a report by The Buffalo News.
Six of Noco's 39 area stores are not included in the pending deal with Marathon. Those six locations will eventually switch from the Noco name, but their future remains unclear.
Family-owned NOCO is based in Tonawanda, NOCO operates 37 convenience stores in western New York.
The NOCO sites will now be part of the U.S.’ largest refiner. Marathon calls its Speedway subsidiary the nation's second-largest company-owned-and-operated convenience store chain, with more than 4,000 locations in 21 states.
