New NUPIGECO technology for SMARTFLEX double wall electro-fusion fittings

NUPIGECO has developed a new technology for its electro-fusion fittings.

The welding wire of all reducers - mounted on the fittings to join them to the secondary pipe - of the double wall SMARTFLEX fittings from Ø63 will be replaced by a new polyethylene coated wire (see picture 1).

This new coated wire replaces the previous bare version (see picture 2).

The wire will no longer appear uncovered as the new polyethylene coated wire blends into the fitting.

This innovation that deviates away from traditional methods dramatically reduces the welding time to almost one third of the current time without compromising the reliability of the joint and without affecting the production efficiency.

This new technology will be applied across the whole SMARTFLEX double wall fitting range Ø63 (2”), i.e. Elbow 90°, Elbow 45°, Tee, Coupling, etc. The same change will be introduced shortly to the reducers of double wall fittings Ø50 (1½”).
