Since Friday morning, half of Coop’s sites in Switzerland could not dispense fuel due to the introduction of a new system. Shortly after 5PM, the fuel retailer announced that “refuelling at all Coop filling stations is possible again.”

The system had already caused difficulties during the test phase but the issue still caught the OMC by surprise.

"We are currently having technical problems at various filling stations to activate the fuel pumps. It affects a large part of our filling station network," Sabine Schenker, spokesperson for Coop Mineralöl AG, told St. Galler Tagblatt.
