Q8 is investing heavily in its Belgian network with the acquisition of 75 service stations from U Car Services and VP Oil, both part of the Uhoda group. This acquisition allows Q8 to significantly increase its national footprint. For its partner Delhaize, the acquisition means the opening of an additional 6 Shop & Go stores.

The stations that have been acquired are mainly in Liège and Limburg, where the presence of Q8 was not as strong as in the rest of the country. "Thanks to this acquisition, we have therefore expanded our offer in an optimal way. The 75 stations we acquired are perfectly complementary to our existing network, which has grown by one sixth," said Operations Director Q8 Northwest Europe, Koen Vankelst.

"The field of automotive services and fuels in particular is changing rapidly and we have decided to refocus on shop management while consolidating our activity in the field of car wash sites," says CEO of the Uhoda Group, Stéphan Uhoda.

This takeover is part of Q8's future strategy that places greater emphasis on a strong relationship with the customer. "Thanks to an even larger network, we are closer to our customers and we can fully realize our great ambitions in terms of customer service with our Shop & Go Delhaize, the Panos and Nespresso offer and our brand new Q8 smiles loyalty program," says Koen Vankelst.

Q8 will have a total of 540 stations in Belgium: 325 with manager, 215 automat, 126 with Shop & Go (120 at present) and 122 with Panos (110 at the moment).

Sixty-five of these 75 service stations operate under different brand names and most of them will be rebranded as Q8. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the coming months.
