Pitpoint chose Rekkem because its location, close to the motorway and the French border, makes it a very interesting crossroads, reports HLN.

"LNG is a more environmentally friendly gas fuel for trucks," said Pitpoint director Jan Willem Drijver at the official opening. "LNG is natural gas with which we also cook at home. Only it has been liquefied, so you can fill up with it and it's better for the environment."

Mayor Eddy Lust also expressed his joy at the arrival of the filling station. "As the local authority, we have the ambition to clean up local transport. With the opening of this station, this is already a step in the right direction."
